We are the UK’s only animal poison centre with memberships for vet practices starting at £8 a month. We handle enquiries 24 hours a day.

How VPIS Works

  • The Veterinary Poisons Information Service  is a 24-hour telephone emergency service providing information on the management of poisoning in animals. VPIS can provide advice on the effects of thousands of toxic substances in small animals, livestock, exotics, or wildlife.
  • VPIS is a members only service. If you call without a membership you will be charged and no further calls will be accepted until a membership is in place. You can take out membership at the time of your call.
  • We use a credit system. One credit is charged for all in hour calls. Two credits are charged for all out of hour calls (This is reduced to 1.5 credits if you join our annual membership).
  • Out of hour charges apply (8pm – 8am weekdays and all weekend/Bank Holidays)

  • Online subscriptions to Companion Animal and Veterinary Nurse
  • Complimentary copy of BSAVA/VPIS Guide to Common Canine and Feline Poisons (RRP £45)
  • One easy annual payment to cover all your poisoning enquiries (by direct debit or BACS)
  • 25% saving when calling out of hours (8pm – 8am weekdays and all weekend/Bank Holidays) – 1.5 credits for each case instead of 2 credits on our Auto Top-Up system

Our annual memberships currently include an online subscription to the UK Vet Collection Journals. We would like to make our annual members aware that, due to lack of uptake, this will be discontinued from 31st October 2022. However due to this we are able to continue to send infomation leaflets about various toxins and Animal PoionLine merchandise including keyrings/pet tags and magnets free of charge to any practice that requests it, which we hope will be useful to you and your clients. We would like to thank The Mark Allen Group for allowing us to share their UK Vet Collection, they have been a wonderful company to work with and their publications are valued throughout the industry. If you have any concerns regarding your membership and how this affects you please email admin@vpisglobal.com
